Our company began as a fledgling lumber company, established in 1947 by William Burmeister. William opened the lumber business to meet local building needs. He began making windows to meet customer needs, and soon focused on window manufacturing, naming his business Oxbow Window Company, and establishing a reputation in the community.
After William passed away, his sons, William (Bill) and Robert (Bob) further developed the business, buying adjoining property, and building and renovating additional facilities. The brothers added other quality lines of windows and doors, still manufacturing their own double-hungs and sliders. The clad and wood casements were developed in the mid-eighties, proving to be a popular and profitable window. The brothers continued to add new fenestration improvements as they were made available, such as improved weatherstripping and Low-E/Argon gas.
Oxbow Window Company incorporated in 1970 adopting the current & unique name OXBOWINDO (sometimes refered to as OXBOWINDOW or Oxbow Window). and then Bill and Bob retired in 1994. The Company is now owned and operated by Todd, Kyle and Debbie Burmeister, making it a third-generation, family-owned business. The new owners wasted no time erecting the beautiful office and showroom located at 10195 Highland Rd. They continue to stay abreast of and incorporate new technology in their window products. Our biggest asset is personal service before and after the sale.
